Our team of photographers pick their top ten images from their last twelve months of show coverage for Loud Hailer.
2023 has seen tours come back in force – and what a great year it’s been for catching our favorite artists on the big stage once again. After tours were halted due to Covid restrictions and then multiple delays due to visa issues etc., the number of tours this year has been impressive, and we can’t get enough!
This year also saw Loud Hailer HQ take to the road for our fundraising road trip on behalf of Musicians On Call and National Independent Music Foundation (NIVF). This trip saw us drive across the US from coast to coast, the scenic route, stopping at independent music venues in 12 cities across a five-and-a-half week trip. You can still donate to either of these great causes. You can find the links to donate and more information on the trip here.

ZACH BIRDSONG
Zach is based in Nashville and this year has covered shows from artists such as Placebo, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Pierce The Veil. Check out his favorite shots from this year’s shows:

Detroit-based contributor Chuck Marshall got his metal fix this year from the likes of Mastodon, Gojira, Queensryche, Kings , and Marty Friedman.

Sami Lipp-Mosier is based in Detroit and has enjoyed capturing shows across a number of genres this year. She has covered blues artists such as the legendary Buddy Guy and Kingfish, and rockers Rival Sons, Dirty Honey, and Here Come The Mummies.

GEORGE ORTIZ
George Ortiz covers shows throughout California, in particular Los Angeles and San Diego. This year he got to photograph the likes of Foo Fighters, The Struts, The Hives, The Cure, Post Malone, and Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Based in the live music capital of the world, Austin, it’s no wonder Lauryn Singletary is able to get her concert fix. This year, Lauryn captured shows such as TV Girl, The Brook and the Bluff, Big Thief, Faye ster, and JDN.

KIRSTINE WALTON
Kirstine mainly covers shows in the Chicago area, but this year took part in a cross-country charity fundraising trip for NIVA and Musicians On Call. On this trip, she managed to catch Chris Shiflett at the iconic Antone’s in Austin. In Chicago, she covered the likes of Queen + Adam Lambert, Fugees, Marvelous 3, and John Mellencamp.
